About The Artist: Charlie
-
I am Charlie Anne Massey, the sole creator and owner of Girl in Blue Designs. I began painting furniture back in 2014 and what I found, came as a surprise! I found my medium, my genre, my art form! As I had dabbled all of my life in art, but never stuck to anything, quite like I did to furniture. Since then, I have not been able to put the brush down. I may be spotted in a flea market, estate sale, or goodwill searching for my next victim while doused in the paint from my last.
My style; ranges from old world, sleek mid century design, cottage core, quirky fine art, and even to glam rock in some cases. You could definitely call me eclectic in my range but one style that I may be most well known for is Old World. I absolutely love a rustic mess of colors that come together in a cohesive and pleasing way.
I love working in deep tones while accentuating them with pops of dramatic and bright color. I love layers, splatters, artisan waxes and their many affects, stencil work, transfer work, and of course; hand painted details!
As a mother and a creative, balance is a must and chaos is a given. Through furniture-art I seek both balance and chaos and hope to deliver them in equal doses piece by piece. -
